Now Here's a model airplane! Actually has 8 "real turbines" at about $1500 each! Took over 2 years to build. It has a wing span of about 22 feet. Takes multiple pilots, as there are so many things to control. Think they were nervous during the maiden flight? Unbelievable that someone would make this - all real turbines! Check out the movie link below to see the first flight. http://www.mcgirt.net/RC/VIDEOS/Giant_B52/B52_flight2.wmv

You want your model to look nice. But you can't find the parts. Have you tried Arizona Model Aircrafters? Or maybe your Uncle Willie doesn't what your looking for, or your just surfing the web. What ever the reason, check them out for

115" wing span. 86" length. 1/24 scale. Power: 6 Master Airscrew .05 geared electric motors. 2 large sheets. One sheet is over 10ft. long!
HISTORY: An intercontinental bomber, designed during WW II (to bomb Germany from the US in case the UK fell), first flew in 1946 and entered service with Strategic Air Command in 1948. More than 380 B-36s were built up to 1954. Around 1958, it was replaced by the B-52. The B36 was the backbone of the USA's nuclear deterrent in the 1950s, much to the dismay of the US Navy, which wanted aircraft carriers to do the job. In the days before submarine-borne nukes, B-36s were continuously in the air in order to enable the US to retaliate if the USSR attacked and destroyed ground forces. Flights of over 24 hours were common. The four jets were an afterthought and were used during takeoff and for rapid climbs in-flight. Although it was an interim as a bomber and never saw action, it served as a reconnaissance aircraft, flying over China far above the maximum heights of communist fighters. Wingspan: 230 ft. Length: 162 ft. 1 in. Height: 46 ft. 9 in. Weight: 410,000 lbs. loaded Armament: Nuclear bombs, or 86,000 lbs. of conventional bombs; cannon Engines: Six Pratt & Whitney R-4360s (@ 3,800 hp), four General Electric J-47s (@ 5,200 lbs. thrust) Max speed: 435 mph. Range: 10,000 miles (4,000 when heavily loaded)
Files $10.00

Hello, I saw your plans and while I don't build models I thought you might find my comment interesting. At least I hope you do! My father was in a reconnaissance wing during the 1950's. Folks call them spy planes and historians call them reconnaissance aircraft. Since these flew over enemy territory SAC and SAC only painted the tail and wingtips bright red so that if they were shot down or crashlanded the red could be more easily spotted from a distance. Anytime a SAC recon plane was lost nobody but SAC was alerted because these aircraft contained secret machines and their crews had secret information. A loss of one of these aircraft was a major blow to national security. Finding these aircraft, machines and crews were extremely important to SAC. I have read a number of books. If you want titles just email me, Im out of space here! Wes

Vickers Wellington MK 1 Bomber
66" wing span. 46" length. Power: 2 - .10s.
HISTORY: The Vickers Wellington was a British built twin-engined medium bomber of geodetic construction which was first deployed with the RAF in 1937, and the prototype first flew on 15 June 1936. It was the main British bomber during the first part of WWII, but the RAF was soon forced to abandon daylight attacks because of its vulnerability. The Wellington was in production until the end of the war. After its replacement in RAF Bomber Command by the new four-engined bombers it was flown on numerous other duties, and some were used until 1953. The Mk.X introduced a fuselage structure of light alloy, instead of steel. There were also prototypes and a small production series (about 60) of the Mk.V and Mk.VI, with early cabin pressurisation systems, which did not enter service. Wellingtons were built with Pegasus, Hercules, Merlin or Twin Wasp engines. Number built totalled 11,461 of all versions including 3,804 Wellington Mk.X ..... The Wellington is now extremely rare with only two extant examples in the World, one at the RAF Museum (UK) and the other at the Brooklands Museum (UK).
File $5.00

NOTE: This picture is of a Wellington with the FIRST radar installed in a British bomber for U boat patrolling. Hitler order his subs to stay surfaced and to fight it out! .... Germany lost 56 U boats within the next 2 months. WOW!!!! Maybe that is where we got the phase ''like shooting fish in a barrel".
Ja, Hitler was his own worst enemy.

B- 52 slope soarer / glider plans. I think the plane could be converted to electric or gas by a skilful builder.... No landing gear is shown..... I have made a reverse right wing and attached it to the left wing sheet.... I just hate trying to build both wings on just one panel, especially when they are tapered and swept too! .... I also left on the ribs, so now you have 2 sets of ribs..... The plans are very large and are fine line, so they will NOT show well...
I have provided a close up color scanned picture of this plan for you to examine so that you may rest assured that my work & this item is of the highest quality.
78" wing span. 65" length.

Files $10.00
This site rocks! I love slope soaring.
